Notice Photo Shoot

Notice was a bit unsure why he was getting so much attention, or why I was shooing him away.  He tried to hide behind a branch, he was a bit put out. You can see his Harry Potter mark really well in this photo! Thanks to LisaG for arranging the photo shoot and RobinM for the photos.

107 degrees on Sunday August 29, 2011

Notice is cool as a cucumber.  On the other hand, I was very hot, hence the red and grumpy face.  We are tired of the 30 something days of 100++ degree weather!

Believe it or not, Notice is starting to get his winter coat.  After all it is the light, not the temperature that starts that process.

Easter with Notice

Notice had a nice graze on the grass among flowers on Easter morning.  The green in the background is a pond covered in duck weed. Notice eats some flowers too, they must be tasty.

Woops, the hay was not yet in his stall, but coming.  Can you guess from which direction?

Notice has a feather in his forelock

Notice found the feather in the arena. He did not mind the feather in his forelock but he was not thrilled with the camera.  He was ready to go in his stall and have his hay!

Happy Birthday Notice!

Notice is 6 years old today.  He had a lesson with Karen, some round pen time with Marlene, and then a very nice long graze on spring grass.  Next he got a little trim on his bridle path.  He was a good boy.  Then we celebrated, he got a boat load of carrots.  Well he got 2 carrots, which is 2x more than he usually gets.  He seemed very happy and content at the end of the day.

First bath of 2011

Notice got a bath on Saturday March 5th that lasted almost 2 hours;  it took 3 products to complete the job. He is now clean from nose to tail and ears to toes.   It was a warm day (80 degrees) and although he is not fond of being squirted with cold water from a hose, he was brave.  He was very patient with the process as long as he could get a sip from the hose now and then.

My primary goal was to clean his beautiful mane and remove some of his winter coat.  When dirty,  his mane tangles easily and he was looking pretty drab.  The three products included a body shampoo, a whitening shampoo for his mane and a conditioner for his mane and tail.  I was not efficient with their order of use and reading the directions, so next time, maybe 1 hour.

A fine day for a ride

Notice and Wizard at play

Here is Wizard playing with Notice.  It was a cold February Texas day, they had been inside for a couple of days and they both had A BUNCH of energy.  They look like toy horses!  (photo by Karen Brown)

Notice at his first dressage show

Notice attended his first dressage show - the Valentine's Day Dressage Schooling Show at Blue Fox Farms.  He is part of the Centerline Training family now (from left to right): Carrie on the Trakehner mare Delphi, Crystal on the Trakehner gelding Gryphon, Lisa on the Hanoverian gelding Allie, Rachel on the Spanish Barb Wizard, and Marlene with the Haflinger gelding Notice.

Notice and his new best friend Wizard

Notice has a new best friend, Wizard.  Wizard has never really had a buddy and now they are fast friends.  After a day of play they are both dirty, dirty, ponies.  Notice is better at hiding his mud than Wizard.

NOTICE ME TOH 25967-05

Notice Me is a 14 hand registered Haflinger - NOTICE ME TOH 25967-05. He was born April 6, 2005 in Indiana.  His first owner brought him to Tomball, Texas and taught him excellent ground manners at Cedar Lane Stables.  She sold him to a teenager and helped her train him to ride and jump.  I bought him in January 2011, and moved him to Houston ( near Pearland) Texas.  He will soon begin his dressage and trail riding training.   He currently lives at Blue Fox Farms (BFF) and is a student of Centerline Training with Karen Brown. At BFF, he is stealing hearts right and left, equine, feline and human.
